Best Lightweight Fishing Kayaks – Reviews
1. Sevylor Coleman Colorado 2-Person Fishing Kayak
With a colorway that screams fishing, this kayak is incredibly tough for an inflatable, thanks to its double-wall construction.
The Colorado Kayak is one of the best lightweight fishing kayaks for 2 people. The first thing you’ll notice about this kayak in the gorgeous green color that makes it perfect for fishing. Another feature that is great for fishing is the incredibly tough material, which is rare for an inflatable. In fact, the vessel has a double-wall construction of a puncture-resistant outer layer that protects the inner inflatable layer. To further ease your mind, the kayak also carries multiple air chambers and a hard 1000D nylon floor.
With this being a light fishing kayak, the kayak features two rod holders, which are found on either side of the boat. This is an important feature as it allows two people to simultaneously fish from the kayak. Anglers will also love that the kayak includes D rings and mesh pockets on the sides to hold tackle and other fishing essentials.
Weighing just 41lbs, this is one of the lightest fishing kayaks, especially in the 2-person market. To make portability even easier, the kayak comes with a useful carry bag.
The kayak comes with a pressure gauge, but no pump or paddle! Now, a lot of kayaks don’t come with paddles, but we are mildly disappointed that a pump is not included.
When looking for the best lightweight tandem fishing kayak, it’s tough to choose between this Coleman Colorado and the Intex Excursion. Both are inflatable tandem kayaks that are comfortable, stable, safe, and offer value for money. With that said, we feel the green-colored Colorado has the edge if you want the best inflatable kayak that is built especially for fishing. However, the Intex Excursion is better for those who value comfort and want a bit more length.
